How It Got Started

Hey ladies!

Sara Thren here to tell you how a busy mother of 11 and her online teacher daughter came to add one more thing to their list of to dos... that one more thing was this blog, Continue, and it has already proved to be a huge blessing to us. Hopefully it will be a blessing to you too!

So my mom travels with my father and 11 children all over North America in a 45 foot bus. We usually travel about 9 months out of the year, going home for Christmas and New Year. With such an adventurous lifestyle, everyone is positive that my mom must have so many stories to tell!

And everyone wants to hear those stories!

People have told Mom for years that she should write a book. I am totally on board with that idea! However, my mom is not crazy about the limelight. Honestly, if you asked some people at the churches we minister in to point her out, they would probably point to me. Why? Because my mom doesn't always come onstage with us. Many people see me onstage, singing and playing instruments and "mothering" the younger ones (hey, oldest daughter's job, right? lol) From what they see, they assume I'm the mother and don't give it a second thought.

My mom is a humble person.

She would rather let other people  take center stage, while she works the spotlight.

My mom is an encourager.

She loves to watch other people succeed and get credit they have earned, all while refusing to admit that she should have any for her own hard work.

My mom is my favorite lady in the entire world.

Anyways, all that to explain why my mom doesn't really think she can tackle writing a book. So, I proposed the idea of a blog. She could write a post every so often and before she knew it, she'd have a lot of material to rework into a book. It took a LOT of coaxing, but finally she agreed to do it.

Honestly, it just kind of took off from there.

My mom's mom, Mrs. Brenda Conrad,  is a  writer and actually had her first book published this year. When presented with the opportunity to write for Continue, said she'd be more than happy to do it.

My cousin, Charity Conrad, and I grew up writing little stories and such together and she has really blossomed into a very talented writer! We are so happy to have her writing specifically for our younger ladies!

So, that is us and our story! We hope you enjoy our blog and are encouraged to CONTINUE for the Lord.

We love you all!

Rachel & Sara Thren
