Bring It Broken

Recently, someone told me, "I'm just so broken. Things can never be the same for me again."

I was unsure of how to comfort that person, because what she was saying is true; in her circumstance, things will definitely never be the same.

That doesn't mean Jesus can't fix it. It means that, for this person, He has another plan.

Read on to discover the different ways that God fixes brokenness.

When something is broken, there are three basic options regarding what to do with it.

1) Reject it

2) Repair it

3) Recycle it

Option # 1: Rejecting

Jesus has promised never to leave us, nor forsake us.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Hebrews 13:5‭-‬6 KJV

This means rejecting us when we are broken is not an option with Him. The Bible also says that God never changes! (Hebrews 13:8) This means that when He says He'll never leave you, you can believe Him!

Option # 2: Repairing

Jesus is able to repair us and make everything like it was before. I have witnessed this.

I think about Job, from the Bible. At the beginning of the book, he lost everything, with the exception of his wife. Yet, in the end of the book of Job, he has twice what he had before!

So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: Job 42:12a KJV

This is the option we all want. We want to just move past something. And if God allows total repair to be our solution, that is wonderful! As long we never forget the lessons He taught us in/from our brokenness. (Jeremiah 18:4)

Option 3: Recycling

The Lord seems to favor this method, in my experience and I am so glad He does!

I think the Lord enjoys making beautiful things from something the World doesn't appreciate.

When something is recycled, it means that Someone looked at brokenness and thought

"This is worth saving. It has value. I can make this beautiful again, in a different way."

Like a mosaic.

Think about it...Mosaics made from broken china are beautiful! They're my favorite (especially blue and white china)!

When making a mosaic, someone takes something broken beyond repair and makes something new and beautiful.

So if you are feeling broken beyond repair, know that God will make you into something new and beautiful, if you'll let him. 🤍

Bring it to Him Broken, and, one way or another, He will fix it.
